Format An 8-episode series, each episode approximately 50 minutes long. A slow-burning, atmospheric science fiction crime thriller. It is the third installment of Phase 1. Synopsis J’onn J’onzz has been on Earth for years, trapped ever since an experiment by Dr. Saul Erdel ripped him from Mars. He lives as John Jones, a homicide detective in Middleton. His telepathy and shapeshifting abilities make him the best cop in the department, but at a price: he is alone, and the only other person of his kind he knew was himself. Victims are turning up, charred beyond recognition. For the department, it’s a mystery. For J’onn, it’s a sign, because fire is the only thing his kind fears. His partner, Diane Meade, begins to suspect something when she realizes he knows things he shouldn’t. Meanwhile, J’onn discovers he is not alone: Ma’alefa’ak, another Martian, also survived and is searching for him. The final clue leads him to the origin of Mars's extinction: a technology identical to the probe Lex Luthor recovered in Superman. J'onn understands that what killed his world isn't over and is now targeting Earth.
