Synopsis

Based on the original 1994 Mexican Telenovela of the same name, Marimar is a young Anglo-Mexican girl who falls in love with Sergio, a young law student. But their happiness is cut short when her grandparents are murdered by a mysterious arsonist and they are arrested. Once they reunite in the city of Bristol, both take on new identities to avenge themselves against those who ruined their lives, including Sergio's fugitive father and sister, solve a string of murders and uncover a past that not only brings them closer, but leads them on a mission they never imagined: To save their native England.

Description of Thomas Sergio Santibañez (Chief Inspector Nigel Hyde):

The husband of Marimar, Sergio is a valedictorian from Cambridge who befriends and marries the daughter of his idol. When her grandparents are killed by a mysterious arsonist, Sergio is arrested before being kidnapped by a mysterious fiend. Adopted by Marimar's uncles in Bristol, he takes on the identity of Nigel Hyde. Joining the Avon and Somerset police, he forges an uneasy alliance with Marimar aka Belle Aldama in their crusade to avenge themselves and discover the truth of their anguish.
