Synopsis

Based on the original 1994 Mexican Telenovela of the same name, Marimar is a young Anglo-Mexican girl who falls in love with Sergio, a young law student. But their happiness is cut short when her grandparents are murdered by a mysterious arsonist and they are arrested. Once they reunite in the city of Bristol, both take on new identities to avenge themselves against those who ruined their lives, including Sergio's fugitive father and sister, solve a string of murders and uncover a past that not only brings them closer, but leads them on a mission they never imagined: To save their native England.

Description of Mama Cruz (Abuelita):

The maternal grandmother of Marimar and Angelica, Mama Cruz was the sweetest woman in East Grinstead, a Mexican immigrant and co-owner of a popular pub. She loved her granddaughters, her husband Pancho, their surrogate son Renato and their son-in-law Sergio. Sadly, she and her husband perished when their cottage caught fire. Despite this, her spirit lives on, serving as an advisor to her loved ones as they struggle in Bristol. She and Sergio's mom are the namesakes of her great-granddaughter Julia Cruzita.
