Synopsis

Based on the original 1994 Mexican Telenovela of the same name, Marimar is a young Anglo-Mexican girl who falls in love with Sergio, a young law student. But their happiness is cut short when her grandparents are murdered by a mysterious arsonist and they are arrested. Once they reunite in the city of Bristol, both take on new identities to avenge themselves against those who ruined their lives, including Sergio's fugitive father and sister, solve a string of murders and uncover a past that not only brings them closer, but leads them on a mission they never imagined: To save their native England.

Description of Magda Ganz Aldama (Nana Magda):

The paternal grandmother of Marimar and Angelica, Magda Ganz was an East German defector who married Lord Aldama to escape persecution. She was a devoted mother to Gustavo and Hope and sympathized with Yolanda and her family. She aided her son in arrange the trial to arrest her husband, sadly both she and Robert perished when the Valle Encantado went down. She was the namesake of her granddaughter Angelica.
