The main antagonist of the series, Bartholomew Cusack is a disgraced royal navy officer and veteran of the Falklands War who lost everything because of the very government he was devoted to and the associates of Marimar's paternal grandfather, the late Lord Robert Aldama. Using connections in the black market, Captain Cusack returns to Britain after 20 years using a false identity with one thing in mind: Revenge on the British People by using the vengeful Marimar as his scapegoat.
