Luigi wins a content to go to a mansion and invites Mario to celebrate. Then he get lost in an eerie forest, Luigi finds the mansion but it's wasn't the mansion he thinks it about it was a haunted mansion with ghosts. And then he got recuse by a scientist by the name of Professor Elvin Gadd and introduced to him and provides inventions to help find Mario on his adventure. Timid Luigi must face prank-loving ghosts, using the Poltergust 3000 and Game Boy Horror. His bravery grows as he captures ghosts, uncovers secrets, and solves puzzles. So it up to Luigi to confronts the king of ghosts name King Boo and rescues Mario, and breaks the mansion's curse.
