Born in Chicago to a single mother who worked double shifts, Lily learned early how to build dreams from scraps. She discovered filmmaking as a teenager, filming her neighbourhood stories on a borrowed camcorder. Her mother’s passing during Lily’s college years became both a wound and a mission — she wanted to capture life’s fleeting moments before they disappeared. After years of small-time directing gigs and heartbreak, Lily moves to San Francisco for a documentary project, where she meets John. She is the one person who refuses to idolize him, instead challenging his emotional distance. Through their connection, Lily learns to stop observing life through a lens and start living it.
