Saren is apart of a species known as Turians from the planet pallaven. He is ruthless and will do anything to accomplish his mission. He has a general distrust and hatred toward humans. He’s apart of an elite task force that answers directly to the council, known as Spectres. It is made up of Turians, Asari, and Salerians. (Council species). He’s the main antagonist, but works for an advanced robotic race called the Reapers. He mainly works for them because he doesn’t believe they can be beaten and thinks everyone should just surrender and be their slaves. When he starts to have doubts though, the reapers implant him with their technology to control his mind and enhance his body.
