Synopsis

Left Behind: The Kids is a series of young adult speculative fiction novels based on the Left Behind series, published by Tyndale House from 1998 to 2005. Written by Jerry B. Jenkins, Tim LaHaye, with uncredited contributions from Chris Fabry. The Kids follows a group of young Christians as they experience the Rapture and Great Tribulation. The novellas contain elements of science fiction, science fantasy, utopian and dystopian fiction, mystery, and horror, woven within an evangelical narrative.

Description of Lionel Washington:

Lionel Washington is one of the founding members of The Young Tribulation Force in the Left Behind: The Kids series. His whole family disappeared in the Rapture except for him and his Uncle André. Lionel becomes a believer in Christ. He later loses an arm in a rockslide, but later gained it back in the Glorious Appearing. While he was at a Global Community shooting range when he was in the Morale Monitor program, he scored the highest. His father gave him a pocket knife as a present for his thirteenth birthday. In Ominous Choices, he used it to cut off his arm with the assistance of Nurse Wanda.
