Robert Lawrence Stine, sometimes known as Jovial Bob Stine and Eric Affabee, is an American novelist, short story writer, television producer, screenwriter, and executive editor. He is also the fictional character and the overarching protagonist of Columbia Pictures' live-action/animated Goosebumps film duology. R.L. Stine is portrayed by Jack Black, who also voiced Slappy the Dummy and the Invisible Boy in the first film. Black also portrays Dewey Finn from School of Rock, the title character from Nacho Libre, Lemuel Gulliver from Gulliver's Travels, Professor Shelly Oberon from the Jumanji films, Jables from Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, Jonathan Barnavelt from The House with a Clock in its Walls, Steve from A Minecraft Movie, and Doug McCallister from Anaconda.
