Huey Pierce Long Jr. a.k.a. "Kingfish"(b. 30 August 1893) is an American politician serving as a United States Senator from Louisiana since 1932. As a member of the Democratic Party, he served as governor of Louisiana from 1928 to 1932 before forming his own America First Party in 1934. Long created the Share Our Wealth program in 1934, with the motto "Every Man a King" proposing new wealth redistribution measures in the form of a net asset tax on corporations and individuals to curb the poverty and crime resulting from the Great Depression.
