After the battle against Savage he would lose the sword and it would be handed over to the US government who then hand it to Mercury labs. Jay would be able to both acquire it to keep it out of the governments hands as well as study it and keep the JSA appraised of his progress in case the government decide to use it against metahumans. Tina and Joan would be fully aware of the situation and do what they can to help.
