Carter Hall was an archaeologist who found during an expedition the tomb of the Egyptian prince Cheops and, inside of it, a belt that could cancel the gravity. Touching it, Carter had a vision and discovered its origin. Many years ago, a spaceship from the planet Thanagar fell to Earth and was found by Cheops and his beloved, Princess Chay-Ara. Believing to be a gift from the Gods, Cheops and Chay-Ara used the metal that covered the ship, called by them "Metal Enésimo", to forge two antigravity belts, a dagger and a gauntlet. Shortly thereafter, they were killed by a sorcerer named Hath-Set, with his own dagger
