Three years after the death of Kent Nelson, The Egyptian Gods chose Khalid Nassour, a teenager from New York, as the next Dr. Fate. The long absence of Dr. Fate though creates a chance for a group of imprisoned dangerous beings known as the Otherkind to escape from The Tower of Fate. Knowing that Khalid is not ready at the moment, Kent Nelson asks Madame Xanadu through a vision to assemble a team to find, protect, and also train Khalid Nassour to become the next Dr. Fate before the Otherkind found him first. Madame Xanadu contacted John Constantine, Zatanna Zatara, Jason Blood, Boston Brand, and Alba Garcia to do the task before it is too late. Can John Constantine and his team find and protect Khalid Nassour before the Otherkind find him first? Can Khalid Nassour claim his destiny to become the next Dr. Fate and banish the Otherkind to where they belong?
