Jennifer Baylor is a young girl, of humble origins, who after a tormented past, she and her father decide to leave West Virginia to move to California and start a new life by opening a pet shop.
Thanks to a scholarship, the girl has the opportunity to study in a prestigious girls' institute populated by girls from wealthy families.
But because of her humble origins, her classmates bully Jennifer, especially a small group of popular girls led by the wicked Sandra Tremayne.
