Synopsis

These truly, truly, truly outrageous adventures of a music company owner who uses a holographic computer to live a secret life as a rock star originally aired from 1985-88, but are fondly remembered by those who grew up during the series' initial run. Jerrica Benton runs Starlight Music, but she's also the pink-haired lead singer of Jem and the Holograms, a pop-music girl group with really big dos and funky fashions that only the 1980s could dream up.

Description of Emmett Benton (Flashback):

Emmett Benton was a prominent entrepreneur and inventor. He was the husband of Jacqui Benton, the father of Jerrica and Kimber, and the creator of Synergy. Emmett Benton was an inventor and recording engineer for his own company, Starlight Music, which he used to help manage Jacqui's music career. Rio also helped him along. He also set up the Starlight Foundation, to help finance his homebrew orphanage. In this way, he was able to adopt many homeless girls. In 1979, Jacqui was killed in a plane crash, Emmett raised the girls as a single parent. Sadly, like Jacqui before him, Emmett would also pass away unexpectedly of unknown causes.
