Rose Lily Shaw is Edgar Blackthorne's wife. She is practically a mere possession to Blackthorne, a simple luxury of no importance. It is not until she meets Arthur that this feeling changes, as she begins to feel mutual respect from him and is loved as a person, to such a degree that she wants to elope with Arthur himself. But this lasts very little time because Blackthorne learns of Arthur's betrayal and, since Arthur's loyalty prevails, he allows Rose Lily to be killed by Blackthorne's men.
