in a parallel universe, Joker destroys metropolis and tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane, the raged superman then kills the joker. that almost happens in the main timeline until they are transported to that universe where they meet their batman who is not on supermans side. they form the insurgency to fight against supermans regime. now they must fight to stop superman. (note this before the new reboot)
