Tired of the life they led at the hands of humans, farm animals, led by a group of pigs, rebel against their owners and take control of the farm where they live, establishing their own rules and a system of government. The poet pig who writes verse about Napoleon and pens the banal patriotic song “Animal Farm, Animal Farm” to replace the earlier idealistic hymn “Beasts of England,” which Old Major passes on to the others.
