Synopsis

Carly, Sam and Freddie are preparing to go to Austria and Switzerland to participate in the Euro 2008 tournament. Just then Spencer arrives. He has a giant soccer ball costume in his hand. The group encounters Gianluigi Buffon and Lilian Thuram in the tournament stadium. Buffon and Thuram hold a short workshop teaching the iCarly team goalkeeping and defense techniques. Buffon makes an impressive save as Sam tries to stop Freddie's shot. Thuram, on the other hand, criticizes Spencer for "art soccer". The next day, the group encounters Robin Van Persie. Van Persie teaches Carly and Sam how to shoot. Meanwhile, Spencer wants to "redesign" the stadium grass and accidentally turns on the sprinklers, getting everyone soaked. They meet Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo explains the importance of social media for soccer players and makes several soccer videos with the iCarly team. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is challenged when he hears Carly comment, "Talented soccer players are usually polite." The iCarly team forms a five-person team against Zlatan. Zlatan steals everyone in the first few minutes, but Spencer comes on stage and manages to trick Zlatan. After the match, all the players and the iCarly cast celebrate in the middle of the stadium. A special "Dance Battle" scene featuring Buffon, Thuram, Van Persie, Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic has the audience laughing. The episode ends with a scene where Spencer's statue of a giant soccer ball explodes into a shower of confetti.
