The film is set between the years of 1964 and 1969. NASA hires famous Hollywood Director, Stanley Kubrick, to fake the Apollo 11 moon landing. The artfulness and scientific style of Stanley's film "Dr. Strangelove" caught the eye of NASA officials, so they hired him. Stanley filmed most of the moon landing at MGM studios, and other parts in private fields in Hawaii. Stanley's top science adviser from "2001: A Space Odyssey", Frederick Ordway, helped film the landings. The film is based on evidence, and statements released from Stanley's widow, who is also the narrator.
