During a military mission in Iraq in 2003, a group of American soldiers and an Iraqi archaeologist discover an ancient Sumerian temple buried under the desert. Without knowing it, they awaken evil forces that have been dormant for millennia. Now, they must face unspeakable horrors as they try to survive and escape the depths of the ruins. The film explores the tension between the trapped characters, both between the soldiers and the archaeologist, and the mysterious entities that inhabit the temple.
