Synopsis

Twenty years into a post apocalyptic world where a Cordyceps Brain Infection has plagued the population, Joel, a smuggler, is tasked to protect Ellie as they venture across the country to deliver her to the Fireflies, a revolutionary paramilitary group. There is belief of making a vaccine and fourteen year old Ellie is the Fireflies possible key to curing The Infection. However, there are more threats than the dead and Fireflies—a simple task to protect becomes a desire.

Ellie is considerably rash, foul-mouthed, impulsive, and temperamental, and isn't fazed by the notion of using violence as a means to an end or profanity as a way of expressing how she feels. However, she manages to maintain a particular innocence as she has yet to see the darkest sides of human nature and retains a palpable trust in people.
