Paarthunax is a dragon, who lives high above the mountains where the Greybeards take refuge. He serves as their true leader, and The Dragonborn only gets to meet him when he earns the trust and demonstrates true skill to Arngeir, the most skilled teacher of the shout. His booming voice speaks volumes, as he uses his knowledge of Alduin to help the Dragonborn. He is one of the few not only talking dragons, but an ally to The Dragonborn.
