Description of Hawkgirl (Shayera Hol):

A Thanagarian officer who is abandoned on Earth after she is presumed dead. She seeks out Carter Hall and his team after they unearth Nth metal and Thanagarian relics on earth. They discover their strange connection is based on a 5000 year bond (which is something like reincarnation).
