KGB assassin Natalia Romanova is tasked to kill famous billionaire Tony Stark. Director Nick Fury hears about this and sends Clint Barton to takedown the Black Widow. Clint spots her and quickly confronts his target. A brawl ensues between the two as Clint uses his marksmanship to his advantage to keep Widow at a distance. Eventually, Clint manages to overpower Natasha, but as he has her pinned down and ready to kill her, he sees something in her; he sees parts of himself in her. Instead he tells her that she can change her life and become an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and do some good. Natalia at first refuses, but after some convincing, she ultimately accepts the offer. Natalia successfully defects from the KGB and instead joins forces with Clint Barton. However, she knows that the KGB will insist on hunting her down and so will S.H.I.E.L.D so she enlists the help of Clint to take down the Red Room.
