Synopsis

Jim Warren is a Warrant Officer in the US Army who flies AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters in the 82nd Airborne Division. Previously, he was an artillery sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard and fought in Korea. Ever since then, he and his wife Fran (nee Campbell) owned a farm west of Philadelphia while he worked as an accountant and she worked as a grade school teacher on the sidelines. The conflict in Vietnam stirs, and Jim feels the itch to serve again. He applies for the Warrant Officer-Helicopter Pilot program, gets assigned to the 82nd Aviation Regiment (of the 82nd Airborne), and deploys to the godforsaken jungle country in hopes of winning the hearts and minds of the people from the south. At the same time, he and Fran have to fight their inner demons if he were to come back home alive.

Description of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2) James Warren (Rattler, AH-1 Cobra Pilot, 82nd Airborne Division):

Jim Warren is a helicopter pilot in the 82nd Airborne Division who flies AH-1 Cobra attack Helo's. Born to a Chinese mom (a florist) and an Irish dad (a retired Navy officer), he hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and previously served as an Artilleryman in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, ranked Staff Sergeant. He previously fought in the Korean War and looked to putting his soldiering days behind him as he established a farm west of Philly with his wife Fran and worked towards his bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Pennsylvania. Upon the outbreak of the Vietnam War, he felt the itch to serve again and commissioned through the Flying Warrant Officer program.
