Synopsis

On a cold Halloween night in 1963 Haddonfield Illinois, six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, a 21-year-old Michael Myers (David Corenswet) steals a car and escapes Smith's Grove. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he unfathomable urge to kill, fifteen years later, on the anniversary of the brutal murder, Michael escapes from Smith's Grove Sanitarium, a mental health facility for the criminally insane, and returns home. And before long, Michael becomes fixated on blissfully unsuspecting high school student Laurie Strode (Florence Pugh) and her friends, Annie (Maya Hawke) and Lynda. In the meantime, Myers' psychiatrist, Dr Samuel Loomis (David Koechner), and sceptical Sheriff Leigh Brackett (Jesse Plemons) comb the town to ferret out the mentally unstable inmate. However, the shadows are thick, and the silent killer is always one step ahead of them to return and to pick up where he left off.
