Rose Hovick had long envisioned herself as a star, to perform on stage as a vaudeville performer on the circuit, but according to her “I was born too soon and started too late.” She then turns to her daughters, her “adorable and talented” younger daughter June and her “plain and lackluster” eldest daughter Louise. Though she pushes her youngest to be the star, it’s Louise who triumphs as the one and only burlesque superstar Gypsy Rose Lee.read more

Description of Tessie Tura:
A stripper, just past her prime, big Broadway voice, strong movement. A Burlesque dancer that shares her dressing room wih Louise, she was once a ballerina and still has some of the moves.
