This film expands the DC Movie Universe to the stars, while keeping its hero’s heart anchored on Earth. A mysterious surge of energy devastates a city block in Detroit. John Stewart, already celebrated as the city’s guardian, traces the disaster to an arrival from deep space: Sinestro, a former Lantern turned zealot, seeking a lost artifact of unimaginable power. As John tracks Sinestro across Earth and the cosmos, he’s forced to work with Katma Tui, a seasoned Lantern from his past, and rely on his engineer’s mind and soldier’s discipline. Meanwhile, John’s relationship with his sister Arina Stewart is put to the test as she’s drawn into Sinestro’s plot. The final battle—on both Earth and Oa—pushes John to the edge, forcing him to redefine what it means to wield the ring.
