kccasting It makes sense that Hermes be played by a slightly older actor as he is one of the oldest of Zeus & Hera's children. I have always thought of McDermott as an underrated actor, and he is exaclty what I'm looking for with Hermes. He has a good like presence and stare but also a softness to him, which is important to Hermes as he spends a lot of time communicating with and helping mortals. Due to the nature of the character, Hermes is rarely on Olympus so wouldn't be a major player in this show as much as some other characters. Nevertheless, I can see McDermott being a scene stealer whenever his character is featured and becoming a reliable presence in the show.
