  • kccasting Dionysus is the most human of the gods. The one that spends most time with mortals and has next to no desire to want to be a god. Ricky Gervais is a celebrity that has next to no desire to be a celebrity, and Dionysus would have no problem calling out his fellow gods just as Gervais has no problem calling out his fellow rich people. I would honestly love to see Gervais in this role, I think he would smash it. And if Gervais doesn't want to be part of the show and acts miserably through every second of screentime, it would actually make the character even better! Think about Bill Burr in the Mandalorian. This show will be really dark at times, we need Gervais' Dionysus.
