Roland Malcom was a mercenary and a member of Monarch who served as Maxwell's second in command of Monarch's strike force who sacrificed himself to help his allies evacuate the fleet they were in when the second generation Malguros attacked it. Roland appears in a flashback during his time under Maxwell's unit back when they used to be in the U.S. Army years prior to his dischargement and the MUTO's awakening.
