Roland Malcom is a mercenary who rejoined Monarch when he was called in for Ghidorah's attack around the world and assist Major Ashdown and his strike team in evacuating the people in Mexico where Rodan was released. Since then, he became a full time member of Monarch and assisted them for years until the second generation Malguros awakened and attacked the fleet. During the evacuation, Roland saves Rick and Maxwell and decides to stay behind to hold off Malguros to give his allies enough time to board the Argo as he controls one of the battleships turrets to get Malguros attention, which led to it blasting the battleship, killing Roland. His sacrifice gave his allies enough time to escape.
