In 1954, young Ota Murakami and his companion, Kentaro Yoshihara are deployed in a besieged Tokyo. The culprit: A gargantuan dinosaur-like beast named... GODZILLA. Following the devastating confrontation in Tokyo, Ota embarks on a nearly fifty year war against the King of the Monsters and other city destroying behemoths all the while coming to terms with his mortality as well as his place in what is ultimately Godzilla's world.
