Following World War II and several atomic bomb tests in the Pacific, an unknown creature is spotted. Scientist Sam Bernard is called in to investigate the matter, and he quickly arrives at the conclusion that a giant, ancient reptile, codenamed Godzilla, has been awakened by the explosions.
