What if? Godzilla from Jan De Bont never got cancelled
This story is a blend of the 2014 and the canceled 1994 versions: In 1979, the Janjira nuclear plant was mysteriously destroyed, with most of the crew lost, including supervisor Joe Brody's colleague and wife, Sandra. Years later, Joe's son, Ford, a U.S. Navy disposal officer, must travel to Japan to help his estranged father uncover the truth about the incident. In doing so, father and son discover the secret cause of the disaster on the very grounds of the shipwreck: a creature called the Gryphon, created by an alien race to destroy Earth, was engaged in a long-running battle with Godzilla, an ancient Kaiju created by an ancient civilization to protect the planet.
