A freed slave from Jamaica who has become a preacher in The Triangle. Most of his congregants are thieves, drunks, prostitutes, and gamblers but he doesn’t judge them, and encourages them to change their lives for the better. Helen meets him on her first journey to The Triangle and is first afraid, because she is sheltered and naive, and he is a tall black man in a scary part of the city. As she continues her charitable work in The Triangle, she sits in on his sermons and considers him a real friend. Age 60-65
