Description of Marian Phair:
Judge Stallworth’s daughter by his second wife. Obsessed with image, reputation, and status. She starts a league of women to help the needy in The Triangle, but really they just go to gawk at the poor and ill. She doesn’t much care for her children and regards them as accessories. She is very vain, haughty and is embarrassed of her niece Helen for not being interested in ‘society’ or fashion. She is light-haired, and is meticulous in her dress. After Lena’s revenge, she is left a broken woman with a nervous disposition, struggling with deep depression. Age 25-30
