He might sign for insurance as "Ray Carrigan." But in reality, this creature is a demonic killer by the name of Blackout, a being capable of dampening all light in his general area. A run-in with the Ghost Rider led to his disfigurement, which was fixed by Mephisto. The archdemon also gave Blackout the formidable power to decay whatever he wanted by touching it, which would come in handy the next time he rumbles with the Brimstone Biker.
