Peter Dougan Capaldi (born April 14, 1958) is a Scottish actor, writer and director. He portrayed the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who and Malcolm Tucker the spin doctor in The Thick of It, for which he has received four British Academy Television Award nominations, winning Best Male Comedy Performance in 2010. When he reprised the role in In the Loop, Capaldi was honoured with several film critic award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. In 2012, Capaldi wrote (with Tony Roche), directed and performed in The Cricklewood Greats, an affectionate spoof documentary about a fictitious film studio, which tracks real developments and trends throughout the history of British cinema. Film roles include Oldsen in Local Hero, Angus Flint in Ken Russell's The Lair of the White Worm, and Mr Curry in Paddington and its sequel, Paddington 2. As a director, Capaldi won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film for his short film Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life. He went on to write and direct the drama film Strictly Sinatra and helmed two series of sitcom Getting On.

Seeking vengeance for the death of his brother, Simon Williams, the sinister Grim Reaper launches an assault on Earth's core heroes. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Hulk, and their newest recruit, Hawkeye, unite to suppress the grieving villain. Just as the Avengers break the Reaper's defenses, the roar of an engine cuts through the battlefield. Danny Ketch speeds into the fray on a flaming motorcycle, unleashing a fury of hellfire that instantly incinerates Grim Reaper into ash. Steve Rogers steps forward, sternly rebuking the vigilante, declaring that the Avengers do not kill enemies. Emblazoning into his demonic form, Ketch raises a glowing chain and rasps, "I am not here for him. I am here for you." An unimaginable slaughter ensues. Thor spins Mjolnir, charging with blinding lightning, but Danny effortlessly dodges, hooks the hammer with his chain, and grabs Thor by his neck, reducing the Asgardian to cinders. Panic grips the remaining Avengers as they desperately combine forces. One by one, Earth's protectors fall. Tony is snared out of the sky and vaporized. Captain America throws himself in front of a black to shield Hawkeye, perishing in the flames. Black Panther uses his agility to evade the onslaught, but the chain eventually catches him. The Hulk roars in agony, fighting the heat for a brief moment before dissolving. Left entirely alone, Hawkeye refuses to retreat. He draws his bow, but Danny slashes him. A sudden POV shift rips Hawkeye across dimensions, dropping him into the barren waste of Hell. To his shock, he finds the entire team and the Grim Reaper there. Thor warns him that their souls are now prisoners of Mephisto. The demon reveals his endgame: mortal souls with hope and faith are impossible to corrupt. so, he ordered Ketch to eliminate the heroes to shatter their spirit. Meanwhile, Johnny Blaze ventures to help the Avengers and then helps them battle Danny Ketch and Mephisto's demons. All escaping.
