Synopsis

Fruits Basket tells the story of Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who, after meeting Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma, learns that 13 members of the Sohma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac and are cursed to turn into their animal forms when they are weak, stressed, or when they are embraced by anyone of the opposite gender who is not possessed by a spirit of the zodiac.

  • sethzarandona LOVE the American name you have for Tohru. My mind would have gone to Tori, but that's SO obvious. Teddi has more of s subtleness to it, and it's cute, because the character is sweet like a teddy bear!

    • krmickey97   @sethzarandona I came up with it as a “boyish” name (although I think associating gender with names is dying, I also initially pictured this being set in the late 90s because I thought it was important to the calendar), but the feeling it invokes was also key, as there’s tons of other gender neutral names starting with T. I played around with a few.
