Synopsis

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general - also known as her tough-as-talons mother - has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you're smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away... because dragons don't bond to 'fragile' humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother's daughter - like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant. She'll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise. Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret. Alliances will be forged. Lives will be lost. Traitors will become allies... or even lovers. But sleep with one eye open because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

  • priyasorris 1. Xaden is not white. 2. Xaden is not a middle aged man (even a young hot one). 3. Xaden conveys beauty, strength, ruthlessness and dangerous intensity. Too many guys over 30 on this list. I think Alex Aiono potentially meets all these criteria, plus he is experienced, but not quite a "big well-known name" already. But whoever also needs to 5. Look right and have great chemistry with Violet!

  • dara Damian Romeo would be just Perfect for Xaden, he is really Talk and has a scar on his face, Watch the Series Ginny and Georgia on Netflix, the role je is playing there, a badboy, soooo goood. And when you take Jenna Ortega as Violet, that would be the Perfect Match. She needs to be way Sammler than him, line in the Books.

  • 2arupp05 Honestly the first time I started to read xaden’s quiet intimidating intensity and bruting stares but with a strange open intimate way only her, the way she intrigued him , challenged him like had never met his match before in spirit and mind reminded me of Theo James as four in divergent I pictures he built frame and tattoos s coming up around his neck and collar bone. The way he would fight anyone to the death to protect her . I saw some early correlations so he is who I started to see dressed in black and tattoos and all intense.
