He is sarcastic, peaceful, relaxed, old man. He is still loving husband to his wife Susan. Retired Lt. Dan plays pivtoal role when he teach Forrest Jr. a valuable lesson on how to become a man and also laid a helping hand to Jenny Gump when she was victim of rape.
