Part 1 (Gump and Co.): Set in 80s to 90s, It shows how Forrest Gump deals on the responsibility of being a parent despite of having IQ of 75. It also highlights about his point of view on the history of 1980s to 1990s. It also highlights the significant struggles, efforts for being "the best son" and developement of Forrest Jr for his father, that also shows on how a boy develope to become a man. Part 2 (The Final Run): Set in 2000s up to present, it shows the last years of Forrest Sr. and his views about the contemporary situations on the world today. It also showcase of Forrest Jr., now a grown man, trying his best to be a "best father" to his daughter. It also leave a hidden but heartwarming lesson from Forrest Sr. himself.
