Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Elijah Davis feels completely lost. After losing his older brother to a tragic accident, he’s pulled further from his family and faith, carrying anger at God and resentment toward life. His mother, desperate to help him, sends him to Camp Brightwood, a once-popular Christian retreat center now struggling to stay open. Run by a passionate yet overwhelmed pastor, Pastor Marie, the camp’s summer program is designed to guide lost teens back to purpose—but this year, everything seems to be falling apart. At first, the teens clash—Elijah’s cynicism and Dani’s sharp wit often ignite tension. Activities meant to bring them closer only highlight their differences, and they mock Pastor Marie’s attempt to “make faith fun.” But when a violent storm traps them at the camp with no power, they’re forced to open up to each other in ways they hadn’t before. Through vulnerable conversations, small acts of kindness, and shared moments of honesty, the teens begin to confront their pain and fears. They wrestle with big questions: “Why does God allow suffering?” “How can I believe when life feels unfair?” With Pastor Marie’s gentle guidance, they discover that faith isn’t about perfection or answers—it’s about choosing to trust when you’re broken and unsure. In the end, as the storm clears, so do their hearts.
