Like Michael, his mother, Clara Afton, has been suffering with depression ever since the deaths of both Evan and William Afton. However, unlike Vanessa, she has never bonded with her son over this shared loss. In fact, she deeply hates Michael for what he did to Evan. However, at the climax of the film, when she arrives at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria alongside Vanessa and Abigail Schmidt, she sacrifices herself so Michael and the others can escape by jumping in front of William Afton's SpringBonnie suit and getting stabbed through the abdomen with a huge piece of metal, later dying at the feet of her husband.
