The original Killer Frost, Crystal Frost, is killed in a battle after absorbing too much heat/power from Firestorm. When her friend, Dr. Louise Lincoln learns of this, she decides to repeat the experiment that turned Crystal into her villainous counterpart, to get revenge on Firestorm.
