While the Double King never speaks a word, it is shown that he is an egotistical, power-hungry tyrant on the hunt for any crown he sees, willing to kill for his goal. He has no care for anyone or anything aside from growing his collection of crowns (or rather, his collection of what he sees as a crown, since he could not figure out how to add Durt the Mushroom Elder's crown to his collection) as after he was taken to the underworld, he did not seem to notice that he was dead and only noticed that he had no crown. He is also shown to be mentally unstable, as he mutilated his own finger when he noticed it had a crown (the small crown of the deceased Lord of the Flies). The origins of his goal are largely due to the fact that his species are cave dwellers which he utterly despises and thus wants to distance himself from his origins as far as possible. It is possible that the Double King is a narcissist, as thus far his goals seem to be based on inflating his own image and making himself feel more important than others. This is further backed up by the fact that the Double King threw a tantrum when the crown he made from a napkin was taken from him, which he seems to view as an attack on his ego.
