Ultraman Max (ウルトラマンマックス, Urutoraman Makkusu) is the titular giant of his series. He was a Civilization Guardian (文明監視員, Bunmei Kanshin-in) sent from Nebula M78, and bonded with Kaito Touma to defend Earth from monsters and alien attacks.
